Our group lessons and workshops are split into beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. Before applying, please read the guidelines below to decide which level is appropriate. If you are uncertain, please call us on 01372 740 300 to discuss.
Beginner
Suitable for absolute beginners through to people who have been having lessons for up to a year.
Although group lessons and workshops includes an introduction to the instrument that some students may already be familiar with, our beginner level differs from classical grades and includes other skills and techniques that are beneficial to new musicians.
Intermediate
Intermediate level students are required to have at least one years experience of weekly tuition or live gig experience or to have completed a Realistic Rock Beginners course or syllabus.
Syllabuses from other institutes or teachers may vary considerably to those of Realistic Rock. If you have had lessons somewhere other than Realistic Rock for under 12 months it is strongly recommended that you complete a beginners workshop or group course before progressing to intermediate level.
Intermediate 2/Advanced Level
Students progressing to advanced level classes should have ideally completed the intermediate syllabuses or workshops. We only accept new students to this level after a trial lesson has been completed and the student has been appropriately assessed by a tutor.
