Sound Proof formed in March 2009, featuring Sam Pearce (lead vocals/guitar), Gus van Manen (drums/backing vocals), Chris Alger (bass/backing vocals) and Joe Turner (guitar), all aged 14-15.
The band state You Me at 6, Bloc Party, Journey, Muse, The Monkees, Queen, The Beatles as their influences and have been likened to “The Monkees” on more than one occasion which is a huge compliment (they think)!
Sound Proof are going from strength to strength and with their current format and they feel that they can achieve a lot more as they practice hard to get better and better. They gig as much as possible, usually locally and as they progress they plan to branch out more when their current school commitments allow. They have already played venues and events including Wallington Halls, YLD Extreme, Bourne Hall, Epsom Playhouse, Bar XLR, The Drill, Manor House School and The Phoenix Club.
The band have written several songs of their own which are in the process of being recorded soon, with hopefully an EP to follow and possibly some merchandise too! Above all else Sound Proof really enjoy what they are doing, they are focused and they hope to go on and achieve as much as they possibly can!
