Kerrademy Best Unsigned Band Award

We coach a number of promising young bands, covering everything from songwriting to live performance.

Our bands have appeared in local and national newspapers from The Epsom Guardian to The Independent and have appeared on TV programmes and radio channels including Blue Peter and Radio One.

Realistic Rock coached bands have also performed at numerous gigs at venues and events including Brixton Academy, The Barfly, Monto Water Rats, Guilfest, O2 Wireless Festival and Glastonbury.

Roxxi

Roxxi formed in Christmas 2007 for the Realistic Rock Christmas Showcase and have been together ever since.

Georgia (vocals), Emma (guitar/backing vocals), Charlie (bass/backing vocals)
and Sam (drums) are are influenced by artists like Paramore, Green Day, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson and You Me At Six. They have also written quite a few songs with the help of the Realistic Rock tutors and their style is a mix of rock and pop.

Roxxi have performed in a number of different venues and events including The Monarch Bar in Camden, The Boileroom in Guildford and Guilfest. They have also played a number of local gigs including Epsom Playhouse, Rockstock at Bourne Hall, Leatherhead Lick, Caterham Party in the Park and some local pub venues, were nominated to represent their borough in a national competition, ‘Rock The House’ and have been featured as an up and coming band in the Independent Newspaper.

The Final Rumour

The Final Rumour

The Final Rumour are a four piece girl band made up of Laura (vocals), Katheryn (guitar), Karina (bass) and Jodie (drums).

The band formed in October 2009 and have since worked on writing original songs and adding a new twist to covers. Their main influences come from bands like: Maroon 5, You Me at Six, Paramore, Biffy Clyro, Jimmy Eat World, Weezer and many others.

In these recent months they have performed at various venues in their local area, including: Epsom Playhouse, Manor House and The Phoenix Club and were nominated to represent their borough in a national competition, ‘Rock The House’.

Babyfaced Assassins

Babyfaced Assassins at Epsom Playhouse

Babyfaced Assassins are a four piece, grunge-pop band made up of Claudia (vocals), Chloe (guitar), Lindsey (bass) and Melissa (drums) who met through Realistic Rock in October 2008.

The band are influenced by artists such as Nirvana, Paramore, Soundgarden and have played venues including Epsom Playhouse, The Charles Cryer, Bourne Hall, Islington 02 and The Purple Turtle.

A highlight for the band so far was winning Playmusic Magazine’s ‘Best Indie Band Award’ in 2011.

May Contain Nuts

May Contain Nuts formed in 2009 on Realistic Rock’s ‘Get In A Band and Play’ summer workshop. They won the Battle of The Bands at Bourne Hall and were quickly booked to play at Rockstock.

The band are Charley Marsh (vocals and bass), Jordan Massingham (drums), Harry Hoyle (lead guitar) and Luke Giles (vocals and guitar) and their main influences are Green Day, Paramore, You Me At Six and Muse.

The band have performed in many venues and events including Hyde Park, The Drill, Charles Cryer, Bourne Hall, Orpheus Trust and Guilfest. They have also organised their own gigs as a showcase for other bands. These Rock Out gigs have been successful and they are planning more.

The Tones

Jake Cunningham, Daniel Foreman, Joem Opina and James Morris are The Tones. They describe their music as containing hints of the Small faces, flavours of the Jam and the Modfather, sprinkles of the Who and Noel Gallagher and a cracking blend of Miles Kane and the Artic Monkeys !

Since forming in 2011, The Tones have really made an impact with their energetic live performances and catchy songs, and have already played at venues including Bar XLR, Bourne Hall and Epsom Playhouse.
