Realistic Rock Academy

New Term

Term starts again this week for all private students and next week (3rd May) for group lessons and workshops so there’s still time to book if you haven’t done so already.

The Easter Showcase Rocked!

Well done to everyone who took part in the Easter Showcase at Epsom Playhouse!

Over 100 Realistic Rock students took part in the event, which included performances from Beginners To Band Members, Realistic Rock Band, Realistic Record Deal, Remastered, selected group lesson students and several featured bands.

We’d like to mention few students who really stood out for us, so well done to Josh Hayes, Ryan Poole, Alex Hamilton, Sophie Alexander, Hannah Martin, all vocal students involved in ‘I Say A Little Prayer’ and Scott Verrill and Jack Shepherd from The Theory Of 6 Degrees.

Thanks to everybody who came to watch!

Realistic Record Deal Songs Ready To Download!

Children In Need

Realistic Record Deal is a 10 week advanced workshop where students learn the basic skills involved in songwriting, including how to write hooks and riffs as well as melodies and lyrics. They then write their own songs and record them in the in-house studio before performing them at the end of term showcase.

The songs from this term are now available for download for £1 each.

All profits raised from these songs go straight to Children In Need- we’ve raised over £200 on previous workshops so please download both songs if you can.

More information on Children In Need can be found here.

Dishes Are Done

Dishes Are Done

Dishes Are Done are an alternative rock band with an average age of 14, featuring Alex S Brown, Tom Nash, Hemmy Ogilvie, Dominic Cooper and Jake Roberts.

Their sound is influenced by bands such as Muse, Led Zeppelin and Kasabian and they all share a love of rock and would like to send this message to their fans: ‘Get your devil horns ready, ‘cos we’re gonna rock your world!’

Their song ‘Broken By The Bullet’ was recorded at Realistic Rock and is now ready to download!

Radio Activity

Radio Activity

Radio Activity are 5 guys who bonded on a Realistic Rock workshop over a love of all things rock. James Thompson, Matt Coates, Ben O’Neill, Harry Message and Josh Brown say that their first song is a perfect cross section of their influences, listing 30 Seconds To Mars, Muse and Lost Prophets as inspiration.

They hope to ‘carry on making rad music and become the best band in the world.’

Their first song, ‘Dreams Don’t Last Forever’ was recorded at Realistic Rock and is now ready to download!

Keyboard Lessons Now Available!

We’re now adding keyboards to our tuition options!

To start off with, we’re offering 30 minute private lesson slots to students wishing to learn keyboards, but hope to add them to workshops in the future so watch this space.

More information about private lessons can be found here.
