Currently in 2010 the Realistic Rock team consists of 17 staff including directors Robin and Richard Henderson, Toy Valentine who is now head of vocals and creative development, ex Flaming Monkeys members Ben Allison and Jimmy Robinson who are guitar tutors and Roger Lunt who runs the in house music shop.
In 2009 the latest Realistic Rock band to gain national acclaim are, ‘The Theory of 6 degrees’, who came second out of 10,000 bands in the national Live and Unsigned competition and winners of Yamaha’s Band for a Grand competition.
In 2010, Realistic Rock Academy, Epsom currently teaches up to 250 young musicians per week studying guitar, bass, drums and vocals in private lessons, group lessons and band workshops.
Realistic Rock aims to involve young people in all aspects of music, from playing an instrument and playing in a band to song writing, recording and gigging. Through good music tuition young people can not only achieve creative satisfaction from playing a musical instrument, but also develop discipline, self confidence and social skills that will help them to achieve their ambitions regardless of their musical aspirations.
